Black Tie Beach « Improv Everywhere

For our latest mission we had several hundred agents spend a day at Coney Island / Brighton Beach wearing black tie attire. We covered a mile-long stretch of beach with a diverse group of people of all ages (from babies to sixty-somethings) laying out, playing games, and swimming in the ocean, all in formal wear. Agents were instructed to find cheap tuxedos and ball gowns at thrift stores for the occasion.

Poster Boy: Gone Fishin

On February 21, 2009, an advertising firm handed Poster Boy a MoMA jacket and gave him free range of the MoMA branded Atlantic-Pacific subway station in New York. Turns out the firm wasn’t supposed to do that, and MoMA fired them. Whoops.

Side rant:  Eco bags are loud, whoopy doo.  It’s better to cope with a crunchy bag than  to walk all over a ground covered in layers of non-biodegradable plastic.

Single-Bull Stampede of the Day: An angry bull took the fight to the stands at a bullring in the Spanish town of Tafalla, injuring approximately 30 people.

Wednesday’s incident came amid intense debate in Spain over the centuries-old tradition of bullfighting in Spain.

The northeastern region of Catalonia last month became the first part of mainland Spain to ban the practice.

And in a recent opinion poll, 60 percent of Spaniards said they do not like the spectacle.

Saw this last night and have been bummed out ever since.  It won the best doc Oscar last year and is about a group of dolphin activists documenting Japanese nut-heads who are killing dolphins and blocking anyone from documenting it.  It’s super exciting and gory!  And depressing!

Does getting drunk and taking lots of pictures ever get old?
